Blue Plaques Photograph Gallery

Blue Plaques have been erected mainly by The Birmingham Civic Society who erected their first Blue Plaque in 1953. Prior to this the Corporation of Birmingham had erected them sporadically. After 1953 the Society took over sole responsibility for raising plaques to former eminent citizens. In addition to the Civic Society plaques other Blue Plaques have been erected by English Heritage. We include others in this gallery that are not 'Blue' but have been erected in similar recognition of people and places including awards for design and conservation.
