On the Old Science Museum building in Newhall Street a Birmingham Civic Society Blue Plaque reads..
Alexander parkes. 1813 -1890 Inventor or the first plastic, worked on this site for Elkington, Mason, & Company. Electoplaters circa 1840 - 1850
On the same building an English Heritage Blue Plaque in is honour of George Elkington.
