The square is situated in the new heart of Birmingham. It features Symphony Hall, International Convention Centre(ICC)Birmingham Rep Theatre, with the Hyatt Hotel nearby, This is worth a visit to relax and have a meal or drink. They also have a lot of events in Centenary Square, especially during holidays. There are a number of examples of public art and buildings in the square such as the Spirit of Enterprise, the Flame of Hope which at the moment is not alight due to lack of sponsorship and funding, The newly restored Baskerville House and the
Hall of Memory are part of the historic Civic Centre. In 2006 the statue of Matthew Boulton, William Murdoch and James Watt was returned to its site on Broad Street opposite Centenary Square.
